Rolin Yuxing Dai is a digital artist born in Shenzhen, China. She is currently studying in the Digital Direction Program at the RCA and holds a BFA in Photography and Imaging from NYU. Rooted in themes of escapism and nostalgia, Rolin's work is deeply inspired by her inner imaginative world and her connection to reality.
Fascinated by the creation of digital artwork, particularly in the form of 3D animations, she enjoys experimenting with a diverse range of media and cutting-edge tools to explore the limitless possibilities of visual storytelling, aiming to utilize various technologies to craft digital narratives tailored to each story.

The world could be one that celebrates the one; the world could be one that celebrates the mass.
Through this animation, my intention is not to assert the inherent virtue or vice of conformity,
but rather to explore its potential for fostering moments of joy and camaraderie amidst shared
experiences, juxtaposed with the allure of individuality.
The virtual settings depicted in this piece draw inspiration from various facets of life. Within the
realm of fairy tales - the mushroom world - the behavior of conforming is common, contributing
to a whimsical ambiance that fosters playfulness. Similarly, the portrayal of extraterrestrial life
on a distant planet reflects a charming form of conformity amongst its inhabitants. The last scene
featuring typing endeavors aims to capture the essence of a prevalent modern-day profession:
programming. Despite the demanding nature of the occupation, there remains a notable
contingent of individuals dedicated to this field. It is noteworthy that many of my acquaintances
have pursued computer science, attracted either by the lucrative prospects or the perceived allure
of the profession.
