Ilan Derech

Né à Mexico en 1990, Ilan Derech est un artiste pluridisciplinaire dont le langage visuel s’est forgé entre animation, code génératif, photographie et cinéma. Ses premières explorations numériques lui ont appris la rigueur et l’abstraction, tandis que la photographie et la vidéo lui ont révélé la poésie du réel. Son approche du film s’apparente à celle d’un haïku : il capture des scènes simples et silencieuses, où la lumière, le temps et le geste deviennent matière de contemplation. Inspiré par les esthétiques japonaises du wa (harmonie), du ma (l’espace entre les choses) et du wabi-sabi (la beauté de l’imperfection), Ilan conçoit des œuvres où la présence et l’absence dialoguent dans une lenteur méditative. Influencé par le wabi-sabi, l’ukiyo-e et la douceur de l’impermanence, il puise son inspiration dans les détails du quotidien — pétales de sakura, pluie sur une vitre, ombre fugitive. Marqué par la perte de son père et un long séjour au Japon durant la pandémie, il développe une pratique où chaque image devient un refuge, un souffle, un espace de silence et de mémoire.

Le travail d’Ilan Derech a été présenté sur des plateformes majeures telles que SuperRare, Foundation ou OpenSea, et salué pour sa sensibilité cinématographique. Ses œuvres ont fait l’objet d’expositions et de ventes aux enchères internationales, affirmant sa place sur la scène de l’art numérique contemporain. Il a collaboré avec ZEISS sur le projet Capturing Mobility, une exploration poétique du mouvement nocturne à Londres, et a été mis à l’honneur dans plusieurs publications — dont SuperRare Visual Haikus, OpenSea In Conversation, et Air Canada EnRoute — qui soulignent la cohérence et la profondeur de sa démarche.
À travers ces collaborations, Ilan poursuit une œuvre contemplative qui invite à ralentir, à respirer, et à redécouvrir la beauté fragile du présent.
