Véro Marengère, an audiovisual artist residing and working in Montréal/tiohtià:ke, traverses the realms of video art, 3D modeling, audiovisual performance, and experimental music. Her artistic exploration revolves around the interplay of hybrid forms of existence and our connection with the virtual dimensions of life. Marengère's creative process is boundlessly open, driven by intuition and invocation, allowing her to imbue profound meanings beneath a veneer of aesthetic naïveté. Originally recognized as a sound artist following her studies in digital music, Véro Marengère seamlessly transitioned to audiovisuality as her primary medium. Whether expressing herself through music or visuals, her concepts increasingly gravitate towards the figurative, the esoteric, and the vividly hued. Captivated by the transformative potential of the arts, she remains dedicated to serving the indigenous community of tiohtià:ke, a commitment that significantly influences her artistic stance.
Her artistic endeavors have graced prestigious venues such as the Centre Phi, Mutek, Soundimage (UK), Off Festival Jazz, Akousma, MAPP Mmontréal, POP Montréal, Lumifest, La Cinémathèque Québécoise, CMMAS (ME), NAISA (ON), and Cafe Oto (UK).

Inspired by speculative fiction, ecosophy and digital intimacy, Roserade evokes a relationship between an office space, a rose bush and a female human. Sometimes frenetic and sometimes contemplative, it proposes a world that deforms without ever completely destroying or building itself. In this entropy and constant mise en abyme, the human and nonhuman explore the feeling of being interdependent, in a reality shaped by digital and ecological transformations. It has won the Canadian electroacoustic community’s JTTP 4th annual prize and the Micheline Coulombe Saint-Marcoux award in 2021. It was also chosen for NAISA’s festival Soundplay Digital in Nature.
