Alvin Mak is a self-taught digital artist based in Hong Kong. Originally trained as a mechanical engineer, he spent a decade in manufacturing before fully transitioning into the creative arts in 2009. His artistic journey spans a range of media, including photography, image compositing, sculpture design, and more recently, digital generative and video art. Mak adopts an empirical, experimental approach to artmaking—constantly iterating and refining his techniques. His work explores abstract aesthetics and the emotional impact of visuals, delving into themes such as cognition, perception, and the evolution of ideas in an ever-shifting mental and sensory landscape.
Since 2009, Mak has collaborated with interior designers, property developers, and private clients to produce artworks for hospitality and commercial spaces across Asia. His work has been shown internationally, with recent exhibitions including Beyond Borders (The Bridge Arts Foundation, Los Angeles), Commune (Fabric London), Page Art Festival (Guangzhou), Get That Shot (Seoul), QuatroBox (Paju City), Instinc D:Art Festival (Singapore), and the Digital Art Fair Asia (Hong Kong). His art continues to find its place in both public and private collections, reflecting a vision that evolves with each new experiment.

“Crimson Sky” is a journey into the emotions and experiences associated with the warmest season of the year. As the sunshine warms the skin, the heat starts to rise, a renewed energy flows in the air and life that can be felt in every moment. Whether it's a summer breeze on a hot day or the amber glow in the sunset sky, there is something special about summertime that makes it stand out from other seasons.
