Saeko Ehara is a Kirakira (sparkling) artist and VJ based in Tokyo. Her works mainly treat the representation of Kirakira motifs such as jewels and flowers. Her inspiration comes from memories of her childhood, where Kirakira stickers, acrylic jewels, small glassworks and illustrated books of flowers form the starting point of her creations. Through her works, she would love to make the world full of Kirakira.
Saeko Ehara has exhibited and shown her work internationally, whether at concert halls and arenas in her work as a VJ, or in art shows such as CADAF New York, Crypto Art Week Asia, and REFRACTION 02, to name a few. She has exhibited in Tokyo, New York, Dubai, London, Los Angeles and more.

This artwork is a part of a series which draws inspiration from 'Courtesan (after Eisen),' a reproduction of Keisai Eisen’s Ukiyo-e painted by Vincent van Gogh in 1887. The series expresses nostalgia and technology through AI and TouchDesigner (visual coding software). The series overlays AI-masked animations from TouchDesigner, Adobe glitches lending a hint of nostalgia. Combining nostalgia and technology, my aim was art not just 'beautiful,' but evoking 'human' sentiment.
