Katherine Robinson is a British-born photographer and visual artist based in Madrid, Spain. She creates her art by photographing the architecture, skylines and nature found in her neighbourhood - and other worldwide cities - and animating the photographs to create a chaotic moving landscape with dream-like elements. She gives everyone the opportunity to escape reality by twisting everyday objects, buildings and landscapes.
Windows - which conceal hundreds of hidden stories - light vs darkness, clouds and brutalist architecture are recurring themes in her work. She hopes to encourage viewers to see beauty in their everyday surroundings and look for the little details that would otherwise go unnoticed.

Windows and lights are a fascination to me as an artist. A light in a window not only symbolises hope and comfort but also makes me think about the story that lies behind the window. The people there – their hopes and dreams, what makes them laugh, what makes them rage, what makes them cry? A whole world of thoughts and emotions, and the only thing we’ll ever know of them is the light shining from their window.
