Marissa Sher is a Brooklyn-based videographer and surrealist. Dancer and choreographer by training, Marissa mixes both her passion and the film and graphic arts industry to develop her works. Being primarily a manual artist, she builds miniature sculptures and still lifes by hand, then moves the elements with the help of animatronics.
Her work has been presented at CADAF Paris, CADAF NYC and CHANGE, the permanent collection on board the National Geographic Endurance.

Ice sample over footage of Reykjavik.
Single sphere composition from “Capsules,” a moving documentation of the living landscapes Sher traverses as she collects specimens, then films them suspended infinitely in time. Focusing on Iceland and Antarctica, “Capsules” confronts the long awaited readjustments of human interaction with the environment, as we hover on the precipice of climate change.
