Hera is the name of a goddess in Greek and Roman mythology. Hera Kim, an artist, has been fascinated by Greek and Roman mythology since childhood due to her name. This fascination led her to develop a keen interest in Renaissance culture through reading books and visiting museums. Growing up with a mother who is a German florist meister, Hera learned about flowers from a young age and became familiar with various decorations and crafts. Her experience studying in Italy allowed her to observe how Renaissance genres changed over time and how they have influenced people and contemporary culture. As a florist, visual director, and AI artist, Hera strives to embody the spirit of the Renaissance in her works. She draws upon her diverse interests and experiences to create pieces that blur the lines between art and technology.


In addition to her personal practice as an artist and florist, Hera founded Tinker Tailor studio, an AI design studio specialised in branding and commmunications. She has worked for major brands such as & other stories, SpaceNK, Target, Diptyque, Charlotte Tilbury, Lotte and more.

The most opulent variant of the genus, Papillofloris Regalia represents a breathtaking union of organic softness and metallic grandeur.

Set against a stark, velvet-black backdrop, the piece opens with a magnificent, symmetrical mandala. At its outer edges, soft, ruffled white petals provide a delicate frame for a cluster of exquisite butterflies. These creatures feature shimmering, gold-leaf bodies and translucent wings dipped in a striking, iridescent teal. At the absolute center sits a pristine, ivory blossom, acting as the heart of the structure.

In a sudden, dramatic breath of darkness, the complex mandala dissolves, leaving behind a quiet void scattered with tiny, drifting teal embers. From the darkness, a single, crystalline blue-grey flower, resembling a cluster of delicate ginkgo leaves, slowly unfurls. In a triumphant climax of rebirth, this central node expands outward, casting off petals as the gilded butterflies and ivory blossoms reform in perfect, breathtaking symmetry. This piece is a hypnotic exploration of luxury, decay, and the inevitable return of beauty.

Generative art

In 3D works, artists can either arrange assets (the 'objects' in a 3D artwork or world) that they have created themselves or purchased from other creators to create elaborate environments and scenes (an approach to 3D art called 'set dressing'), or specialize in sculpting, which involves creating their own objects and assets.
Photogrammetry
Photogrammetry is a specialized 3D technique that allows 3D objects to be created from numerous photographs taken of an object or scene from multiple angles. These photos are then compiled to determine the specific positioning, shape, and dimensions of the object in space, and then converted into a 3D model. Initially developed for engineering and urban planning, photogrammetry has become a way for artists to produce extremely accurate 3D models from real-life images.
Collage
An extension of the traditional, plastic approach to collage, digital collage involves searching for and cutting out multiple images, extracting them from their original context, and recomposing them in a new arrangement to create a work of art. Artists can use their own photographs or find images on the internet.
Illustration
Digital illustrations are created using software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or Procreate. As with drawing on paper, the artist uses a stylus to sketch a figure or object, usually on a tablet, to construct a scene or artistic universe. Unlike traditional drawing methods, digital illustration is much more forgiving, as mistakes can be easily corrected and drawn elements and objects can be easily moved around within a scene.
Video
Video artworks primarily use a recording camera, but may sometimes include additional post-processing or editing to distort, modify or add additional elements to the image. Some artists use state-of-the-art recording equipment to create macro zoom-ins or time lapses, privileging fidelity to the subject matter. Others use additional softwares to significantly modify or warp the video, creating an alternative perspective on the world that surrounds us.
