Marissa Sher is a Brooklyn-based videographer and surrealist. Dancer and choreographer by training, Marissa mixes both her passion and the film and graphic arts industry to develop her works. Being primarily a manual artist, she builds miniature sculptures and still lifes by hand, then moves the elements with the help of animatronics.
Her work has been presented at CADAF Paris, CADAF NYC and CHANGE, the permanent collection on board the National Geographic Endurance.

Single sphere composition from “Memories of Earth,” 2019. Made from upcycled miniature sculptures and iPhone footage backdrops, "Memories of Earth" shows a dreamlike universe where echoes of terrestrial life spin on like planets long after we’re gone. Part of the series Sher created for CHANGE, a permanent art collection aboard the National Geographic Endurance (curated by Zaria Forman for Lindblad Expeditions).
