Ashkan Galehdari (b. 1988, Tehran, Iran) is a digital artist from Amsterdam, Netherlands. His work is inspired by the cultural heritage of the East, with a focus on the vibrant colors, intricate patterns, and spiritual symbolism that are prevalent in Eastern art. His goal is to explore the intersection of Eastern culture and digital art, combining traditional elements with modern technology to create work that is both grounded in tradition and innovative.
Ashkan believes that the integration of Eastern culture and digital art has the potential to bridge cultural divides and promote a deeper understanding of different cultures. His work also reflects how technology can provide new perspectives on traditional art. He experiments with different techniques and mediums in his digital art, creating new forms that can be shared with a wider audience.

"Persian Garden" was created for an exhibition at Art in Space, Dubai, adapted for a 360 degree screen, and unique immersive experience.
"How can one create an image that has a specific smell? Ashkan creates images which has the smell of Iran. He does not choose the easiest way to create native images. He does not combine the touristic elements of Persian culture to achieve an appealing, adsorbent and exotic image. He interprets his lived experience of Iranian culture into a digital image. And finally, an image is created that is both possible and impossible at the same time. These images are 'possible'; because every component of it is made of familiar elements of Iranian culture. And they are 'impossible' because Ashkan’s digital images are formed in a world similar to the imaginary world of Persian old paintings. And as you know, the world of Persian old paintings introduces a reality that can be defined outside of human knowledge of the world."
