Inspired by nature, universal symbolism and shared associations, Yan Paul Dubbelman creates digital art pieces in a style that he calls Ambient Art. The goal is to create an ambience of colours, movement and familiar shapes that keep their existence even when viewers don’t consciously notice them. For Yan Paul, nature is the most important factor in giving viewers a set of shared visual associations. His work is inspired by the idea that we are more connected than we are divided and even though his art is made with a computer it carries a human touch with which he aims to highlight these shared associations.
Yan Paul's works has been exhibited internationally, in locations such as the LUMA Foundation in Arles with his drone shows and at NUR Festival in Russia.

Fragile and grey until they open up in the light. This piece was inspired by the feeling of hiding from the cold until the sun starts shining again. The blue of this piece has a cold radiance, shades of blue on a rigid branch, yet there is a lot of life in between the petals.
