Saeko Ehara is a Kirakira (sparkling) artist and VJ based in Tokyo. Her works mainly treat the representation of Kirakira motifs such as jewels and flowers. Her inspiration comes from memories of her childhood, where Kirakira stickers, acrylic jewels, small glassworks and illustrated books of flowers form the starting point of her creations. Through her works, she would love to make the world full of Kirakira.
Saeko Ehara has exhibited and shown her work internationally, whether at concert halls and arenas in her work as a VJ, or in art shows such as CADAF New York, Crypto Art Week Asia, and REFRACTION 02, to name a few. She has exhibited in Tokyo, New York, Dubai, London, Los Angeles and more.

These portraits are created by AI and inspired by the Japanese painting, ‘Noh Dance Prelude’. It was painted in 1936 by Uemura Shōen and she is famous for Bijin-ga ('beautiful person picture'). It is one of her representative works. I was touched by how she lived strongly as a painter and also a woman. The techniques are digital but I always focus on the ‘human’. By learning about the historical context and Shōen’s character, I am exploring a humanistic expression.
