Sasha Sokolov is an audiovisual artist working with sound, light, and data. A single logic runs through his practice: a signal oscillating between order and randomness, applied to two different kinds of material. In the installations the material is synthetic, made of 3D-printed objects, lasers, screens, and ambisonic sound, forming closed systems that run on their own regardless of the viewer. In the audiovisual works the material is the world itself. Photogrammetric scans of trees, streets, and remembered places are moved by the same signal between recognition and abstraction.
Sasha was recently presented at Ars Electronica Festival 2025, with Antinomy, an Immersive Dance Performance, combining contemporary dance with generated visual art and video. He was also presented at Core Underground 2025.

This audiovisual work immerses the viewer in a winter landscape, featuring a 3D-scanned tree within a snow-covered forest environment. Generated through photogrammetry, the point cloud reconstructs the cold, pristine atmosphere of winter, hovering between organic reality and digital simulation. Utilizing TouchDesigner, the texture of the bark and the weight of the snow are translated into a fluid geography of light particles. In perfect harmony, the atmospheric soundscape created in Ableton Live emits icy, textured tones that resonate with the visual pulses, evoking the silence of a sleeping forest and the preservation of a fleeting memory.
