Based between Lausanne and Geneva, Gaël Corboz is a graduate of the prestigious ECAL, the École Cantonale d'Art de Lausanne, following an initial training in photography. His work draws from a wide range of sources: painting, with his practice heavily inspired by Caspar David Friedrich and Albert Bierstadt, fantasy literature and heroic fantasy, art history, and nature, which he blends to create a visual and aesthetic identity all his own. After completing his studies, he quickly felt constrained by traditional practices and turned to 3D animation and motion design to explore an infinite realm of possibilities. There, he creates surreal scenes bathed in vibrant colors and bloom effects, often drawn from his own dreams: heavy objects become ethereal, and flora and fauna take on unreal forms and hues. For the artist, these works depict a world where anything is possible, an approach that harmoniously blends nature and technology and, more broadly, aims to challenge conventional standards of beauty.
His collaboration with the Swiss watchmaker Zenith remains one of the most notable highlights of his career: his 3D creations have adorned the brand’s store windows in cities such as Dubai, London, New York, Milan, Hong Kong, Geneva, and Paris. He has also worked for brands such as Gucci and Sephora, and his clients include Oribe, MTV, and Warner Music. His work has been exhibited at prestigious venues around the world, from Beeple’s studio in Charleston to The NFT Factory in Paris, including the Château de l’Aile in Vevey and the Alt+1000 festival curated by Nathalie Herschdorfer, and has been featured in publications such as Forbes, Novembre Magazine, and Dazed Beauty.
