Alan Bolton is a multidisciplinary digital artist from Ireland whose practice merges graphic design, videography, photography, and 3D art. With a background in Business & Management, and a specialization in digital marketing from the Dublin Institute of Technology, his professional journey began in Los Angeles where he worked as lead content creator for MihranTV. Returning to Ireland in 2019, he transitioned into freelance work, building a visual language rooted in surreal, abstract 3D compositions. His artistic vision blends technology, identity, and digital culture, often reflecting on the intersection of human experience and the virtual world.
Since 2020, Bolton has focused on developing his personal artistic career, stepping away from client work to explore new dimensions in digital art. His NFTs have been released on leading platforms such as MakersPlace, SuperRare, and Nifty Gateway. Notable collaborations include projects with Deadmau5 and the Hau5trap label, as well as a unique partnership with Manchester City Football Club. His work has gained international visibility through exhibitions in Los Angeles, Canada, the UK, and at the Beijing Contemporary Art Show in 2023. Bolton continues to push the boundaries of digital expression, both independently and in collaboration with global artists and brands.

The Halving is centered on an abstract Bitcoin mining rig (based on an Antminer S19 Pro) and set in a surreal environment. Conceptually focused on the Bitcoin halving and the year 2020, there are easter egg elements around the rig based on extensive research and especially intended for crypto enthusiasts to find. Audio from news reports and other media were exhaustively sourced, sampled, and mixed to complete the work.
