Aether Elf is a Scotland-based artist exploring the intersection of artificial intelligence, traditional computer arts, and surreal biology. Working across digital animation, wearable art, experimental sound, and science-fiction-inspired ecosystems, she creates immersive worlds that pulse with emotion and imagination. Her practice draws from nature, mycology, folklore, fantasy, and notions of alien intelligence, most notably in her Alien Forest series, which introduces an evolving universe of fungi, surreal beings, and otherworldly organisms. Through these works, she constructs environments that are at once captivating and emotionally charged, where imagined lifeforms emerge through layered digital processes.
Originally trained in traditional media, Aether Elf transitioned toward AI-assisted creation as chronic pain made earlier methods inaccessible, leading her to develop new approaches to image and sound-making. Her work reflects personal experiences of disability and neurodivergence, positioning artistic practice as a space for resilience, expression, and connection. Her projects have been presented internationally, including at Loop Lab at the Busan Museum of Art (Digital Subculture), Seoul Media Light Festival at Gwanghwamun Square, Edinburgh Media DJs (Society Cycles), Barcelona Metro Expo (The Art Tunnel), and the AI New Aesthetics International Exchange Exhibition at Taichung National University of Science and Technology. Her work was also presented at the British Art Fair at the Saatchi Gallery in 2025.
