Toru Izumida combines visual and sound media to produce immersive, multi-sensory live scenery and audiovisual art experiences. Passionate DJ, sound composer and visual artist, he programs overlay visuals that react to live sounds. His hypnotic performances invite viewers to lose themselves in a world of performative digital art and experimental sounds, a world of pulsations and vibrations. Toru explores contemporary culture and modern life through 3D and data composition, as well as digital collage and portraits.
Shortly after graduating from Musashino University of Art in Tokyo, Japan in 2010, Toru moved to New York to work as an audio and visual artist. His works were then exhibited around the world, at the Dubai World Art and in individual and group exhibitions in New York, Mexico City and Tokyo for example. In 2015, he participated in the annual International Symposium on Electronic Art (ISEA), an event that encourages interdisciplinary and creative exploration of our relationship with technology.
