Rick Silva

États-Unis

Rick Silva is an American-Brazilian artist who creates experimental 3D animations that explore virtuality, futurology and speculative ecologies. He now lives in Oregon, where he works as an associate professor of art at the University of Oregon. Rick’s inspiration comes from his interest in protecting natural spaces, wilderness, landscapes and science fiction, which lead him to create works that are committed and visionary.

He began his practice in the early 2000s in parallel with his film license from the University of Colorado. His works have since been projected and exhibited worldwide. Recent exhibitions include Hors Pistes at the Centre Pompidou and State of the Art at the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. His work has been featured in publications such as WIRED magazine and Rhizome’s Net Art Anthology book.
